Heidi Esmeralda Peratoner is a freelance writer and poet. She was born inBoston, Massachusetts. She contracted Bacterial Meningitis at birth. As a result,
she is physically challenged and with a hearing loss. She moved to Beaverton,
Oregon with her family at a young age. She moved to California as an adult to
attend UC Berkeley. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in English With A
Writing Emphasis from Dominican University. She went on to obtain a Master's
Degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University in the San Francisco Bay
Area. She has had several poems published in the National Library of Poetry
Anthology. She is now a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist and currently lives
in Fairfax, California. She was inspired by Coal, her pet cat to write about his
adventures out in the community where they lived. Her first book How I Came
To Be Coal has recently been published by Xlibris and is now available.
