Creating meaningful images goes beyond technique but does not exclude it as a relevant component of this composition. There are spaces for dialogues about image production to take place. I do not intend to exhaust any subject but to understand that the creation of thought is intimately related to the production of images; that is why I propose to be a deep place of connections, reflections and, most importantly, movement. I don't see photography as a visual end but rather as a manner of expression, alive, questioning and producing. The image does not have a priori meanings - it is built from our relationship with the world and how we project this in the photographs we read. That is why thinking of photography as a place of dialogue, education and problematization is fundamental not only to deepen the studies with the tool but mainly to the reasoning of what we want to build with it.
Autoren-Porträt von Danny Bittencourt
Danny Bittencourt is a visual poet who transits between artistic production, education and writing. Graduated in Photography, specialist in Visual Poetics, Master in Education with an emphasis on Cultural Studies, and PhD student in Art Studies, she shares research and experience through lectures, workshops, courses and books. She is the author of the books "Fine Art Photography", "Hybrid Photography", "The Window Light", and "(Des) Constructing Fine Art Photography". Pursuing a space to think about photography, combining technical qualities with critical thinking, Danny founded Entrelinha Editora, where she works as editorial coordinator and executive director. She currently dedicates herself to online teaching through courses on her website and international platforms such as Domestika and Núcleo Academy. She also offers the Mentoring Program, where she guides the career of photographers with a focus on production, management, marketing strategies and market direction. In her artistic production, in addition to works that start from her own vulnerability, thus stimulating the validation of ways of feeling, she is devoted to researching her own relationship with photography, often stressing her identity as a photographer and the weakening of photography in the contemporary. For this, she appropriates hybrid photography, photography as an object and support as a narrative possibility.
