A Classic of Ancient Christian Spirituality. In this letter to a friend, Athanasius of Alexandria (ca. 298-373) offers spiritual guidance on how to read the psalms. With guidance the Psalms not only provide insight into inner life, they also provide what we need to say or do in order to bring healing to our souls.

Autoren-Porträt

Rev. Joel C Elowsky (Ph.D Drew University) is an ordained Lutheran pastor who currently serves as Professor of Historical Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO. Among his previous positions, he served as the Operations Manager for the Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture (InterVarsity Press) as well as Associate Professor of Theology at Concordia University Wisconsin. He began his ministry as a mission developer outside of Atlantic City where he spent 8 years planting a church. Among his teaching and lecturing engagements, Dr. Elowsky travels to Africa on occasion lecturing on the early African contribution to Christianity, including such figures as Athanasius. He is married to Joy, a church musician, and has two sons.
