Dr Dermot Keogh is Professor of History at University College Cork. A member of the Royal Irish Academy and one of the foremost authori¬ties on the history of modern Ireland, his latest book, Ireland in the 19505, The Lost Decade, was published in 2004.Dr Mervyn O'Driscoll is a lecturer in Modern History at University College Cork. He is the author of Ireland, Gemumy and the Nazis: Politics and Diplomacy (2004), and is working on a monograph on Anglo-Amen¬can policy towards Charles de Gaulle's nuclear weapons programme.
