It is 1947 in Heidelberg, Germany, when Lily Feldmann first meets American airman, Pat Duran, who immediately captures her heart. For the next three months, they are inseparable. But everything changes when Pat is involved in a tragic midair accident. His untimely death not only shocks Lily, but also those who are greeting him in a world unseen. But all is not lost for there is a heavenly plan to rectify the error.
Naturally devastated, Lily attempts to move forward by reestablishing her nursing career. After a short-term stint caring for the wife of an American diplomat transforms into an inseparable bond between the two women, Lily is persuaded to accompany the couple back to America. But just as Lily embraces new beginnings, her past begins catching up with her in mysterious ways. Meanwhile, Pat learns that he is returning to Earth, not as himself, but as a First Lieutenant whose life has been sacrificed to accommodate Pats return. Unfortunately he has no idea of the danger lurking in his new future.
In this exciting action adventure tale that spans three continents, souls collide amid the fortunes of war and fate where each must face the unknown within the spell of the Keepers gift.
The Bronze Star Medal and three Air Force Commendation medals accompany a host of other service awards.
