During my time in the army, a lot of my intellectual pursuits had been on hold. Within the first year of getting out, I began to use the Internet for research; one of my favorite things to look up was famous quotations. One day, after reading some, I wondered to myself if I could write things to similar affect. In my room there was laying an unused journal my mother had brought for me, so I sat down with the journal and made my first attempt at writing an epigram. I came up with about four or five to which I know at least one of has made the final copy of the book. Being satisfied, I decided that I would take up the habit of writing things down in a journal. Within a month or so, I became inspired to write the poem Kill, Cry, or Die. Up until that point, I had been unaware of my talent for poetry, and poems would then on make appearances in my journals. Over the years, I did not write with great consistency as that months would go by and nothing would be written to the contrast of other times would I would write something virtually every day for a month. Much of the journals progress was affected by my bipolar disorder, as that during depressions my writing had gone all but forgotten for whole years and then when in mania I would write frequently but would latter deem a lot of the material unusable. During my last period of mania I began to consolidate my work into one journal and after doing so had thrown much of my work into fires, as well as using a black marker to edit out traces of things written. I regretfully lost a lot of material in this process but I feel that I managed to save most of what was good from it. From June of 2013 to September of 2014, I had not touched my journals to write or read from them, they sat forgotten in a box thinking I would never write again. One day I pulled them out and decided to read them over; I found that I had forgotten most of what I had written and with a sober mind began to type up the material that I felt was worth keeping and sharing with others. After the task was complete, I fear that I had excluded so much material, that I would not have enough for a book but this problem was quickly resolved that I had become inspired to write again and began to come up with new material and I felt I had improved some as that all the new stuff was usable. Over all the completion of this book took about eight years from when I first put pen to paper. I hope you enjoy this book as I feel that I only put my best foot forward and been far more critical of my work than anyone else has been.
Autoren-Porträt von Peter A. Muller
The author was born in New Jersey, and shortly after birth, his parents moved to Miami, Florida, when Peter was three or four. He and his mother returned to Union City, New Jersey, where he grew up in a tenth-floor apartment building. When he was seventeen, his mother and stepfather brought a house in the neighboring town of Weehawken, where he lived for another two years. During his school years, he attended the local public schools until the sixth grade and repeated a year. This prompted the school system to conduct test that showed Peter had very high comprehensive skills and was then placed in the city’s gifted and talented school. In high school, he attended the local public school the first year when a counselor recommended that he attend a vocational countywide school, where they had fresh young teachers and smaller class sizes and better college preparation; he attended this school for his remaining three years until graduation. When Peter started high school, he got his first job at the local public library, where he worked until he graduated high school. After graduation, he attended a liberal arts college in northern New Jersey for two semesters, where he gave no effort and missed more classes than he attended. This prompted Peter to join the army. At that point his goal was to emulate his stepfather by becoming a firefighter and believed military service would best prepare him for that career path. He served in the army for seven years as a Calvary Scout. During his service, he was part of the first deployment to Iraq in 2003. After his honorable discharge in 2007, he moved to Miami to work with his father in the film business. After work dried up a bit, Peter often moved and worked between New York State, New Jersey, and Miami before settling in Miami for approximately four years. During this time he began to have mental health issues and was often involuntarily brought to mental health wards by the police, where he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

After Miami, Peter moved to Northern California, eventually settling on the Klamath River near the Oregon border, where he currently resides.
