Produktinformationen zu „Knowing the Unknown: Through Science and Sufism (ePub)“
Knowing the Unknown Through Science and Sufism touches on the creation of the universe, starting from the Big Bang and following through the phases of evolution until the present day, discussing the appearance of life on earth after billions of years of turmoil. It looks at the early beginnings of religion in prehistoric societies and how this progressed into organized religion as we know it today. This book explores the similarities between the scientific concepts related to evolutionary change and the concepts that Sufis have highlighted with reference to verses of the Quran. It discusses the history of mankind and the journey through theological, philosophical, and spiritual phases. The book attempts to expand on the concept of time in relation to evolution and the difficulty in defining time and why the Quran mentions different times in different verses and also on an understanding of time in the present day. The subject matter is vast, but this book has attempted to address it in a more easily accessible way.
Autoren-Porträt von Ghayur Ayub
Dr Ghayur Ayub is a retired professor of surgery who specialized in cancer surgery. He spent his early childhood in a village at the foot of the majestic White Mountains of the Himalayas in northern Pakistan, instilling in him a lifelong love of nature. While treating terminally ill patients, he observed that some of them seemed to make a miraculous recovery. This sparked an interest in paranormal phenomena, parapsychology, and then in spirituality. He retired from health services in 2005 and began writing fiction and non-fiction books with spiritual and paranormal themes. His research led him to find close similarities between the concepts of evolution proposed by scientists and those promoted by the Sufis from verses of the Quran. On the other hand, he also saw how fundamental theologians tended to firmly oppose science. In addition, they create hatred and distrust amongst the followers of Abrahamic faiths. He strongly believes that the spiritualists of these three faiths can bring them all together and make the religious custodians understand that science is not at odds with religion.
Living in London with his family, he has already published two non-fiction and three fiction books on this subject.
