In 1817 a titled lady and her parure are lost at sea off the island of Islay.
By chance crofter Hugh Ferguson finds the brooch and necklet of the parure.
While Hugh and his wife think the find will provide their children with a legacy, in reality it dogs the lives and loves of four generations of the family from Scotland to England and beyond.
Jan Cooke who was instrumental in encouraging this novel to be written had this to say after reading an early draft - "What can I say - you have excelled yourself! I started reading and couldn't stop! You have told the story skilfully and woven the facts beautifully within the fiction."
No matter where in the world Leigh was living, she has always been surrounded by books. As a child, when she was not being read to, she would be an avid listener to the tales that either her maternal grandmother or her father would weave.
Leigh never considered writing until she was encouraged to attend a U3A Creative Writing course in the 1980s. She has been writing ever since. Now, after many years of traveling, teaching and working in a school library, among other careers, she is ready to share her writing with the public.
