Keeala Resort in Brisbane, Australia, is one in a chain of Over 50's Lifestyle Resorts, spread throughout South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales. It is owned by entrepreneur Roger Whitney and his son Andrew. Book One, 'The Last Resort', begins with the Whitneys in the process of developing a new stage at the Resort. The proposal has attracted opposition from locals and protests from a green action group. Leading the group is Laurie Lyall who is a passionate anti-development environmental activist and he is determined to expose the corrupt local council.
