Autoren-Porträt von David J. Somers
David J. Somers' experience as an educator spans more than 30 years, most of which were in the area of special education for the mentally handicapped. He received his MEd degree in Special Education from Wayne State University in Detroit. His career began as a teacher in Michigan, and later evolved into a career as an inservice teacher training specialist with the Palm Beach County, Florida School District, the tenth largest district in the United States. While there he helped initiate and develop programs for all ages and levels of the handicapped. In 1981, he was a recipient of the Rotary International Scholarship in Special Education.It was early in his career that Mr. Somers saw the need for more appropriate, practical teaching materials for learners with special needs. He wrote this workbook to meet that need. It has succeeded in doing just that for many thousands of special educators and their special learners.
