From an early age, the author was an adventurer, hunting, fishing, and camping out in remote places. He grew up in Arizona and went on to become a forester and a big-game packer and guide.
His fascination in the Lost Mine began at the age of twelve. He read everything he could find about the mine and the Dutchman. This is the story of his personal encounter with a group who were lured into the Superstitions by gold fever-a Lust for Dutchman's Gold-that continues to lure treasure hunters into these mountains with visions of striking it rich.
