It was first written as a log for his children and grand children to
inspire them to find their own magic moments in life, but he was
encouraged to share it with others as a record of moments that
should not be forgotten. History is full of them, everyone has
them, but they often get lost.
The real world with your magic moments is not on TV. They are
out there waiting for you.
Robert Stever, a retired doctor from family medicine in Seattle,
volunteered two years of medical care in Cambodia. After the
fall of Pol Pot in 1979, he returned to Cambodia with the first
American medical aid donated by the American Friends Service
Committee, a group linked to Quakers. Having spent time in
Central American villages and living in communities that shared
problems with blight, he has witnessed remarkable
transformations sparked by a few individuals.
Short medical stories have been published. One favorite was
published in part in Patients and Doctors, University of
Wisconsin, a book that explores the importance of the patient-
doctor relationship.
