I draw a parallel between the cultural and spiritual approach of Maori design and the conventional Western design perspective. This exploration unveils the Maori people's unique worldview and their distinctive design philosophy. Additionally, I compare Maori Design Principles and general design principles to identify commonalities and differences.

I delve into the realm of patterns, specifically focusing on the Flounder Fish pattern, characterised by its diamond shape. I also examine modern New Zealand architectural structures that incorporate this particular pattern, showcasing the fusion of tradition and contemporary design.

My exploration extends to abstract design concepts and architectural ideas, drawing inspiration from Maori abstract art. I touch on how these concepts can be integrated into architectural projects, giving rise to innovative and culturally significant designs.

Lastly, I discuss the utilisation of artificial intelligence for design ideas, with a spotlight on Playground AI. I present captivating design images generated by Playground AI, featuring the Maori Flounder Fish pattern as the central theme. The AI prompt explicitly sought a design for a modern, contemporary house infused with Maori shapes, forms, and patterns.
