From the era of the 18th-century European Enlightenment to the present, music has long claimed residency in and served as an important conduit for philosophy. This book examines the various ways the writings of ten contemporary philosophers (from Adorno and Bloch to Badiou and Zizek) attempt to metamorphose philosophical thought on the model of musical sound.
This book was originally published as a special issue of Contemporary Music Review.
