As mother of all disciplines, Chinese especially suffered from the negative impacts and lost its independent disciplinary attributes. It was called "e;political Chinese"e; and "e;Revolutionary Literature and Art"e;. Some schools even directly took Quotations from Chairman Mao Zedong and Chairman Mao's works as textbook for Chinese.Since the reform and opening up, Comrade Deng Xiaoping has put forward the strategy of "e;developing the country through science and education"e; and emphasized that "e;education should geared to the needs of modernization, the world and the future"e;. Under the new wave of reform, China's Chinese education entered a new period of development in the middle 1980s. Standardized examinations have been gradually introduced into the evaluation of Chinese curriculums, which has improved the efficiency of Chinese teaching to a certain extent.However, as the trend of standardized examination becomes even more violent, Chinese teaching has also undergone serious alienation. Teachers follow the eight-character constitution of "e;characters, words, sentences, text, language pattern, rhetoric, logic and culture"e; to explain and analyze texts in a dismembered way. All teaching centers are centered around "e;teachers teach and students learn what to be tested in examinations"e;, so as to make Chinese teaching which was rich in content and interesting originally come to a dead end and become a kind of exam-oriented and skill-oriented learning.1997 Chinese education discussion had a heated discussion on the questions of Chinese education. At the same time, the preliminary investigation of the eighth round new curriculum reform was also carried out all over China in full swing, which eventually led to the promulgation of 2001 Chinese curriculum standards for compulsory education and 2003 high-school Chinese curriculum standards, and opened the prelude of a new round of Chinese curriculum reform.
