Li Yaosha, the author of the Old Soldiers Dictating the Anti-Japanese War Series I: Three General Assembly Battles of Suizao, Hundred-Regiment Campaign and Shanggao, through searching and interviewing those veterans and survivors who participated in Suizao, Hundred-Regiment Campaign and Shanggao battles over more than ten years, restored the scenes of these three major battles, and revealed a number of little-known truth: Zhang Zizhong bearing a traitor infamy returned to the troops, the first sentence he said was: "e;I took you to go to death."e; Then, without a stop, went to the frontline of battle, and ultimately sacrificed in the battlefield. In the Hundred-Regiment battle, the Eighth Route Army with a captured artillery and the only 6 shells destroyed a dozen bunkers in succession; in order to snatch a Japanese 38th Year Rifle, a few lives sacrificed. In the Shanggao battle, the Kuomintang and the Communist Party pulled together to shoot dead and wounded a total of about twenty two thousands Japanese soldiers, honored by He Yingqin as "e;the most wonderful war since the war"e;. This book is the first work to describe the war of resistance against Japan from veteran's perspective.
