Produktinformationen zu „Potpourri of Poetry and Song (ePub)“
Readers of this book will discover amazing variety, not only in themes, but also in poetic style. Lydia herself invented a three-syllable line of carefree verse that she employed in her "August Love in Tennessee". Her poems are a veritable visual feast much like a painting, owing to her adroit use of descriptive terms.
The author has mastered the art of poetic storytelling, as well. We witness the character of five individuals unfold in a three-page poem. See "A Mother's Quilt". Lydia's poems are decidedly upbeat and reflect the joyful hope that characterizes her life as a Christian.

Autoren-Porträt von Lydia Esmer
Lydia Esmer is a Spanish specialist and a classically trained soprano, fluent in English and Italian as well. She has taught Spanish at all academic levels and was employed as a church soloist before her marriage. Her interests include cooking and baking, paintings and sculpture by the masters, listening to and performing classical and semi-classical music, coaching young voices, reading, good movies, and walking in the early evening with her husband, Gerald.
Lydia's poetry reflects her love of beauty, not only through the descriptive images that appear on every page, but also through her use of color and rhythm. Several of the poems which appear in this publication are copyrighted songs for which Lydia also composed the melody.
She is an author who has followed her own star, listening to her inner voice and waiting for God to speak. She has always been drawn to the truths of the Bible and the miraculous in the Christian experience.
The author is privileged to sell her work as individual laminated poems at various locations in Middle Tennessee. Through the initiative of a manager of a prominent Florida hotel, Lydia's poems are being sent to our service people in Iraq and Afghanistan.
