Peter Arnade is Professor of History and dean of the College of Arts and Humanities at the University of Hawaii Manoa. His is author of Realms of Ritual: Ghent and the Burgundian Court; Beggars, Iconoclasts and Civic Patriots: The Political Culture of the Dutch Revolt; and with Walter Prevenier, Honor, Vengeance and Social Trouble: Pardon Letters in the Burgundian Netherlands. Martha Howell is Miriam Champion Professor of History at Columbia University, New York. She is the author of Commerce before Capitalism in Europe, 1300-1600; From Reliable Sources (with Walter Prevenier); The Marriage Exchange; property, social place and gender in cities of the Low Countries; Women, Production and Patriarchy in late medieval Cities
