Autoren-Porträt von Victoria Leyto
Victoria Leyto ¿ Russian writer, poet, teacherVicotria Leyto was born March 2, 1991 in Voronezh, Russia into a multinational family: Russian mother and Greek-Armenian father.
From a young age, Victoria was fond of poetry, languages, books and different cultures. During childhood and adolescence, she spent her days writing verses, poems and odes. However, it was hard for her to believe in her creative powers until the principal of her school payed attention to the student's talent during her senior year. She played a pivotal role in the writer's creative development, entrusting her to write the script for prom night completely in verse.
Victoria received a degree in linguistics and is fluent in English and Spanish. Furthermore, the passion for creativity burned throughout her education. During her college education, she started writing philosophical articles, essays and discussions, thus converting from poetry to prose.
The writer seeks inspiration in living people, those she knew or still knows, those with whom she was associated in any way and those whose story she deems needed to be told. In 2013, affected by a complicated relationship with her partner, she wrote the book "Salt Skin" in record time, 10 days. Inspiration fully took over the author and she literally devoted day and night to writing it. However, the book was left untouched until 2015, when Victoria finally decided to send it to a publisher. In 2016, Victoria signed a contract with one of the largest publishing houses in Russia, Ripol Classic. In 2017, the book was translated to English by Babelcube.
Currently, the author continues to engage in creative activities and is working on her next book.
