Robert Lloyd came to The University of Tennessee College of Law in 1983 after a career in commercial law with the Los Angeles firm of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton. He helped to develop the college's Concentration in Business Transactions and served as the first Director of the college's Center for Entrepreneurial Law. Professor Lloyd has had numerous articles on commercial lending transactions published. Prior to becoming the Director of The Clayton Center for Entrepreneurial Law at The University of Tennessee in 2000, George Kuney was a partner in California's Allen Matkins Leck Gamble & Mallory LLP where he concentrated his practice on business law, insolvency, and reorganization matters. Prior to that he received his legal training from the Howard Rice and Morrison & Foerster firms. Professor Kuney is the author of Secured Transactions: UCC Article 9 and the Bankruptcy Code (Clayton Center); Mastering Legal Drafting with Donna C. Looper (Carolina Academic Press); Mastering Intellectual Property with Donna C. Looper (Carolina Academic Press); Mastering Bankruptcy (Carolina Academic Press), The Elements of Contract Drafting (2d ed. West), Legal Drafting in a Nutshell (with Thomas Haggard, West), Legal Drafting: Processes, Techniques, and Exercises (with Thomas Haggard, West), Mastering Bankruptcy (Carolina Academic Press), Chapter 11-101 (with Jonathan Friedland, Michael Bernstein, John Ayer, ABI), and California Law of Contracts (with Donna C. Looper, CEB) as well as a number of articles dealing with business acquisitions, corporate governance, reorganization and related matters. In addition to a J.D. he holds an M.B.A.
