V. RAMAMURTHY is the Bernard-Baus Professor of Chemistry at Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana. The coauthor of over 260 research publications and coeditor of the Molecular and Supramolecular Photo chemistry series (Marcel Dekker, Inc.), he is a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences and a member of the American Chemical Society and the Inter-American Photochemical Society, among others. Following his undergraduate education in India, Dr. Ramamurthy trained in photochemistry under the stewardships of R. S. H. Liu, P. de Mayo, and N. J. Turro. He received the B.Sc. degree (1966) in chemistry from the University of Madras, India, the M.Sc. degree (1968) in chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India, and the Ph.D. degree (1974) in chemistry from the University of Hawaii, Honolulu. KIRKS. ScHANZE is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Florida, Gainesville. The coauthor of over 120 journal publications and coeditor of the Molecular and Supramolecular Photochemistry series (Marcel Dekker, Inc.), he is a member of the American Chemical Society and the Materials Research Society, among others. Dr. Schanze received the B.S. degree (1979) in chemistry from Florida State University, Tallahassee, and the Ph.D. degree (1983) in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
