This book provides an account of the integration of smartphone video recording in the language classroom. It outlines and reports on the implementation process and the practical issues related to this learning method. Using simple digital storytelling, and mini-documentary filmmaking, students are able to learn to speak in a foreign language, while at the same time exploring and experimenting with video production.As such, this book will take readers on a journey through various educational concepts that enhance the formulation of a smartphone based learning approach, as well as suggesting that digital video production is not just a task, it is a 21st century skill necessary for all academics and learners.

Nicolas Gromik is a Lecturer with more than 15 years of English language teaching experience. He has worked mainly in Asia and the Middle East, and has presented workshops on his favourite subject, filming and editing at various international venues and shared his ideas and vision of movie productions at a number of conferences. His publications include the edited book ESL and Digital Video Integration: Case Studies, as well as several articles.
