Her books are sumptuously illustrated with unique hand felted images that seem to reach out and invite you into their beautiful world. Mother, grandmother, and over 30 years as an early childhood teacher, and pioneer in working with children, Amma Sharon has been sharing stories with children for many years. Poetic phrasing has long been a passion of hers, writing and illustrating her first two books of poetry at the young age of 12. A felting artist for many years, Amma Sharon became inspired to illustrate her children's books with colorfully felted wool images. These images express a depth of warmth, rich color, and life not to be found in other media and have become her unique signature illustration style. More than sweet stories her imaginative tales are filled with messages of gratitude, curiosity, and possibility that enliven the world around us and awakens the world within us. Adults will enjoy and become as engaged in her stories and rich illustrations as any child. Amma Sharon lives in coastal California where she enjoys the early morning sounds of barking seals, fog horns and walks along the ocean in good company of dolphins, breaching whales, and pelican pods.
