Produktinformationen zu „Songs of Science (ePub)“
Within this book are delightful nursery rhymes which your child will enjoy singing in the car. As your child sings the rhymes, she will learn about things that she sees and experiences. She will learn about waves, energy, motion, and more. Through these rhymes, general relativity becomes as intuitively accessible as Newtonian physics.
Autoren-Porträt von Shannon Williams
I am an electrical engineer who enjoys teaching young children about the physical world around them. I have found that most physical concepts require merely that a child notices them in order to understand them. When a child notices physical concepts in her world, she organizes them at an intuitive level, which guides how she interprets events in her world. It is amazing to watch a child notice a concept as mundane as a toy floating in water, and then a month later, she extrapolates that to airplanes floating in the air. My hope is that through nursery rhymes, children can learn to intuitively understand many of the physical laws that adults struggle with today. When the children reach high school and college, their physics classes will simply need to mathematically explain what they already know at an intuitive level.
I live in Dallas, Texas, and have a three-year-old daughter who audits all the nursery rhymes that I write.
