Amy burned the dinner again. She had been so busy with her college studies that she kept setting off the smoke alarm, which automatically alerted the fire department to send a fireman out to check the premises. The fireman that usually got called out to her apartment was getting sick of her cooking mishaps. "What?"

"Remember what you said?" asked the fireman, walking past Amy toward her couch.

"Not really," lied Amy. "Look, can I just get back to my studies and let's forget the whole thing. Please?"

The fireman sat down on her couch. Despite her promise, Amy had no intentions of being disciplined like a child on her own couch, in her own apartment which she pays for herself. And yet she couldn't put up a real fight for some reason. She looked at the fireman sitting on her couch with a cocky grin. How could he have the nerve to sit on her couch without asking?
