This book 'A Manual in Chemistry' was written as the course developed and then became firmly established. The course, designed as the first year chemistry laboratory courses for scientists, physics, chemistry and life science majors as well as all engineering majors: strove to fulfill a number of requirements. Shiv Nadar University has a tie-in with Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, hence in addition to the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), and UGC (University Grants Commission), we have had to keep in mind the standards of ACS (American Chemical Society), a body that governs US college students.
