A large meteor came crashing down on Antarctica and created a huge hole in the ice that went down a mile deep to the bedrock. The impact threw ice into the upper atmosphere where it circled the globe. Charley and his large family retreated to their Survival Shelter on their ranch. Charley's family survived and went back living to their normal lives; at least as normal as possible since the climate had changed.
