St. Peter got it right when he forthrightly declared Jesus of Nazareth to be The Christ, the Son of the Living God (Matthew 16:16). This was a bold assertion of the person of Jesus Christ. So much of what the church teaches about Jesus is directly concerned with his works. Well, praise God for that! However, like Peter, we need to get a precise revelation of the person of Jesus, the wonder of his divine character, which reveals the heart of the Father.
This series of forty studies on The Christ, in essence is focused on Jesuss reply to Peter, Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father in Heaven. This implies the bonding to the very image of Christ that can only happen under the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
St. Paul, at the end of 1 Corinthians 2:16, challenges the Christian to have the mind of Christ. Experiencing the person of Jesus Christ, tapping into his very thinking processes, with the help of the Holy Spirit out of the scriptures virtually guarantees that even as we seek to get a grip on the fundamentals of his ministry, we will inevitably discover the man! We need to grow our personal faith in the power and authority of Jesus and the glory of His enthronement at the Fathers right hand!

Autoren-Porträt von Ralph Parnwell
Ralph Parnwell was born in Sydney in 1935 and educated at Kings School for eight years. He went on to become a primary school teacher and receive his teaching diploma in 1962. He entered the Baptist Theological College in 1973, graduating in 1977 with Advanced Diploma of Theology form Melbourne College of Divinity.
Ralph’s father died in 1950. Shortly afterward, he was soundly converted. His following teenage years saw him become an intense student of the Bible, also studying Luther, Calvin, and a plethora of Christian books. In 1956, He received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Later, as he was recovering from a major illness, he underwent a profound spiritual deepening—experiencing God with a vital sense of obedience and faith.
Once ordained into the Baptist church, Ralph served as a pastor in three Baptist churches. In 1988, he was ordained into the AOG and served in the Hawkesbury AOG churches. Since 2000, he has pastored River of Life Church in Richmond NSW Australia—a member of the Association of Independent Churches.
In 1982, Ralph “learned to pray,” entering upon a journey of meditation on the scripture, occupying many hours each day, and writing many journals. The outcome of all these years of preaching and teaching and pastoring is now culminated in “The Christ” series “Mandate for Discipleship”
In 1973, he married Helena MacNamara, recently migrated from the UK. They had two sons, James and Marcus, and two daughters, Olivia and Christina.
