Simon Cleary was born in Toowoomba in 1968, and attended university in Brisbane. He now lives in Melbourne with his wife and two sons. He is currently working on his next novel, which is set in Australia and Northern Africa. In October 2009, Simon moved back to Brisbane to be closer to his family.
