Peterkin, imprisoned and mutilated, discovers a method of escape through a rift in space and arrives at a strange industrial world - Earth. He soon discovers that this isn't the first time elves have arrived on the green planet. With the light elf kingdom under siege and Ameela imprisoned at the Tower of Absolom, Peterkin must return to his world alongside his new human allies and prepare to fight the war his love began.
