Gus
Meyer is the third of eight children. He
grew up in Cohasset and Hingham, Massachusetts and Woodstock, Vermont. After a
combination of public and private elementary education, he attended the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut. He graduated
Phi Beta Kappa from Middlebury College, with majors in Studio Art and Psychology. He obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in
Clinical Psychology from Washington State University. For the past
25 years, he has resided in Randolph, Vermont, where he has practiced psychology and raised two
daughters with his wife, a practicing attorney.
Inspired
by the frequent benefit of addressing issues through the softening lens of
metaphor, Dr. Meyer has chosen to share clinical perspectives in the context of
a medieval fantasy with The Fates Within, his first novel.
