Edmund X. DeJesus was born in Providence and raised in Cranston, Rhode Island. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from the University of Rhode Island, and Masters and Ph.D. degrees in theoretical physics, also from URI.He has taught at Middle Tennessee State University and Boston University. He has been a programmer with IBM (writing software to help Navy subs not bump into things), a researcher at MIT's Lincoln Laboratory (analyzing data from Soviet missile tests), and an editor of BYTE Magazine (writing the cover story for BYTE's final issue).
He is currently a freelance writer who contributes articles to many technical publications. He lives in Massachusetts with his wife and two children. He enjoys reading humor (especially P.G. Wodehouse and Dave Barry), mysteries (including Agatha Christie and Dick Francis), and classic science fiction (such as Isaac Asimov and Philip K. Dick).
He has been published in Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine. This is his first novel.
