I was volunteering at my son's elementary school and I was early for my library shift. I sat in the minivan and felt the need to start writing. The little red flower came to life right there in the parking lot. It was fall and Remembrance day was a few weeks away. I was inspired to write something that could help explain the importance of our veterans, of this day to my five year old. I read the first draft to my son's kindergarten class and he lit up. Thank you to the school library volunteers for letting me read my creation to the class. This was the beginning of my writing adventure.

Thank you to my son, Jaden, for being such an inspiration to me. You are so genuine and kind, sincere and full of life. I love you, forever.
