About the Author Christa Unnasch': Born 1933 in the free city of Danzig, now Polish Gdansk, she fled in January 1945 with her mother and younger brother over the Baltic Sea barely escaping the Russian U-boat that sank the Wilhelm Gustloff'. After many hardships the small family settled in the village of St Annen' near Heide in Holstein. Christa obtained her nursing sister certificate in Luebeck, Germany and worked last at the Maternity Ward in Hamburg-Altona from where she resigned in 1960 to migrate to Australia. She married and had two children, followed by eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. After her husband died in 2002 there were many affairs to be settled and in 2005-2006 she decided to write. Her first book Of Prussian Heritage' based on her family background was followed in 2008 with No Glory in War'; the often-traumatic events of WWII in Eastern Europe and in 2011 by The Migrants'; her and that of other successful Migrant stories in Australia. She lives in Mawson Lakes near Adelaide, Australia.
