Produktinformationen zu „The Politics of ADHD for Australian Aboriginal Students (PDF)“
Master's Thesis from the year 2012 in the subject Pedagogy - Orthopaedagogy and Special Education, grade: Distinction, Deakin University (Institute of Koorie Education), course: Master of Education - ADHD Education, language: English, abstract: In Australia, ADHD has become a common childhood illness. Kindergarten and schoolteachers are now required to medically analyse children’s behaviour. If behaviour is deemed different to that of "normal" children, then a diagnosis may lead to ADHD and a prescription for stimulant medication. Such consultations require no objective proof. Therefore it is important to consider the context of the student’s environment, such as lifestyle, school and society at large. This book offers a second opinion. The author explains that ADHD for Aboriginal students is a form of colonisation.
