Two gay young British men, coincidentally both to become brilliant acrobats, meet in the USA and fall deeply in love. Joining groups of like-minded colleagues with a view to training and performance, whilst continuing a tender exploration of their sexuality, we found them at the end of Loving the Boy, a previous volume in this series, persuaded after about a year in the States, to "assist" two gay girls, very close friends of theirs and also performers, to become mothers. As their performing careers develop, and fatherhood approaches, they are initially unaware of a dark cloud seeking to envelop them as two separate grudges against different members of the troupe threaten tragedy. Successful tours throughout the eastern USA, South Africa, Europe and Australia follow, but the net closes tighter as an appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival approaches with potentially fatal consequences. Drawing upon unseen benevolent forces which they encounter in the English Lake District as other personal issues unfold, The Power of Love is marshalled in a bid to save the most seriously injured member of the troupe. Little do our heroes realise that Edinburgh will only be the beginning of their troubles...
