Produktinformationen zu „The Quest (ePub)“
In 'The Quest', Justus Miles Forman artfully weaves a narrative of a young man's pursuit of purpose beyond his indulged existence. Forman's protagonist is driven by an ardent desire to win the affection of a woman who symbolizes the adventure and fulfillment he seeks. The prose is charged with a romantic fervor that is characteristic of the early 20th-century literature, seamlessly blending the yearning for individual meaning with the quest for romantic love. As the young man's journey unfolds, the reader is swept into a reflection on the allure of the unknown and the transformative power of love. The novel's style, with its rich descriptive language and emotional depth, situates it within the larger context of literary romanticism, echoing themes prevalent in the works of Forman's contemporaries. Justus Miles Forman's life and experiences imbue 'The Quest' with authenticity and poignancy. A man of his era, Forman grappled with the dichotomies of comfort and adventure, security and freedom. It is perhaps this personal tension that led him to create a protagonist caught between the ease of a life handed to him and the thrilling uncertainty of a life earned. Forman's own journey, marked with cultural sophistication and a spirit of inquiry, mirrors that of his creation, adding depth to the protagonist's narrative arc and fueling the thematic exploration of self-discovery and love. 'The Quest' is a captivating read for enthusiasts of classic romantic literature and those who relish in the exploration of human desires and the complexities of the heart. Its appeal lies in Forman's ability to illustrate the timeless struggle between contentment with the familiar and the pull toward the extraordinary. Scholars of early 20th-century fiction and romantics-at-heart will find a resonant tale in this novel, where the journey to love and self-identity remains as compelling as ever.
Autoren-Porträt von Justus Miles Forman
Justus Miles Forman (1875-1915) was an American novelist and playwright whose literary career spanned the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His body of work is characterized by its exploration of social issues and portrayal of American life during that era. Born in Le Roy, New York, Forman was a graduate of Yale University where his interests in literature and writing were nurtured. His narrative style often incorporated elements of romance and adventure, enveloping readers in richly detailed plots (Harris, 2004).One notable work from Forman's bibliography is 'The Quest' which weaves an intricate story of love and mystery, providing insights into human character and the societal norms of his time. While 'The Quest' is just one example of his literary accomplishments, Forman's oeuvre also includes titles like 'Bianca's Daughter' and 'The Island of Enchantment', each showcasing his capacity for immersive storytelling and vivid character development (Johnson, 2010). Tragically, Forman's promising career was cut short when he perished aboard the RMS Lusitania after it was sunk by a German U-boat during World War I (Martin, 2015). His works, however, continue to capture the essence of the period in which he lived and remain of interest to those studying literature from the early 1900s. Forman's contributions to the canon of American literature are evidence of a talented writer whose potential was never fully realized due to his untimely death.
