Autoren-Porträt von Amy DeLucia
Since I was a child, I always have had a love for reading. My mother tells me she thinks I learned to read before I could walk. Every year, my grandparents would buy me a book for my birthday and Christmas. I still have them today, marked with each year. I now read them to my daughter who is often found in the morning in bed with a dozen books all around her.I live in Waterloo, NY with my husband: Brian, daughter: Meadow and step-son and step-daughter: Dylan and Giana. We have a chocolate lab named Pacey who is quick to let us know if anyone is at the door and a cuddly little tiger kitten named Yogi.
Inspiration for the Book
When my daughter was born, I sang to her this song.
“The sun comes out. It’s time to say.
You run around. You laugh and play.
Where do you go? Little Miss Meadow.”
As she grew older, we added to it for bedtime.
“The stars come out. It’s time to say.
You go to bed. You dream away.
Where do you go? Little Miss Meadow.”
Meadow knows the song by heart at 2 years old.
