Since his first visit down at the bay at the end of 25th Road, Jim got hooked on the adventure that would forever bring him back to the water. Jim lived an adventure that any boy would dream of. Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer had nothing on Jim. The photo on the cover is the original sailboat, The Princess, which Jims Dad built in their backyard. The book ends with Jim now fifteen, returning home from a trip of a lifetime.

The author was born and raised in Miami. He was taught to work, swim, and sail at a very young age. Jim wasn’t interested in school, only adventure. He dreamed of one day sailing to the Bahamas. Since then he has made the trip several times. Jim’s grandfather, Paul, had worked alongside of Mr. Henry Flagler until they had completed the railroad down to Key West. Jim’s grandfather, Paul, married a Key West school teacher who was born on Harbor Island, Bahamas. Jim’s father was born in Key West where he also lived and dreamed adventure. After five wives and eight children, Jim has finally settled down and has started writing books.
