Best friends Echo and Telia are really experiencing some "interesting" times.
Echo received a call on her twenty-first birthday that changed her life forever. Fourteen years later, she gets to add a pink slip to her birthday confetti. She wishes the calendar would skip over this particular day because her mental state won't tolerate one more tragedy. And then the phone rings with news that signals another ungranted birthday wish.
Dr. Daniel Ellington's touch provided the electricity that pumped Telia's heart. However, an accident spared the lives of their children but left his hanging in the balance. Now, Dan's mother has descended on Telia, determined on securing control of his inheritance and heirs using every weapon in her arsenal. She read literary treasures like Anne of the Green Gables and Tale of Two Cities. However, she snuck in romance novels that she hid between her mattresses. Those weren't on her mother's list of approved reading material. However, her favorite book growing up was Aesop's Fables, which she feels puts her in an excellent position to share the morals of her personal stories, whether people are interested or not.
Kay has an M.A. in Writing from DePaul University, won a Nuyorican Poets Cafe Short Story Slam, participated in comedy fests as a member of the writing teams for Spankx and N20 Comedy, and writes suspense novels.
