Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).These are the proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Processing and Manufacturing of Advanced Materials - THERMEC'2011 - which was held during the 1-5 August 2011 in Quebec City, Canada. The conference brought together researchers and engineers/technologists working on various aspects of the processing, fabrication, structure/property evaluation and applications of both ferrous and non-ferrous materials; including biomaterials and smart/intelligent materials. The contents are thus and excellent and up-to-date guide to these subjects. The four-volume set collects the 505 papers selected for the August 2011 conference on processing, fabricating, and evaluating both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Volume one opens with 27 keynote speeches followed by contributions reporting new developments in aerospace structural metallic materials, aluminum alloys, biomaterials, and composites. The second volume presents research on the dynamic behavior of materials, fracture and mechanical behavior, friction stir welding, fuel cells and batteries, intermetallic, magnesium alloys, metallic glasses, and simulation techniques. Volume three explores nanostructure materials, neutron scattering and X-ray studies, severe plastic deformation, intelligent materials, and steels. The final volume focuses on superalloys, coatings, texture, thermomechanical processing, thin films, and the effectiveness of joining methods. B&w photographs and diagrams are provided.
