When Brad Moore visits his sister, Katie and his niece in Texas he expects that they will gladly welcome him and his help. He finds out that his sister couldn't care less about him, or his help. She yells at him and sends him packing.
Brad leaves, but he has a soft spot in his heart for his little niece, Rachel. He sends her money every year for her birthday, Christmas and at the beginning of the school year.
What he doesn't know is that Katie has been keeping the money for herself. On Rachel's 15th Birthday, Katie overdoses on drugs, leaving Rachel an orphan.
Rachel feels that her uncle has let her down. He is a stranger to her. Her boyfriend, Ricky, insists that the police call him to collect Rachel, because he wants what is best for her.
Rachel has to go with her uncle and leave her beloved Ricky, but she doesn't want to. She is going to show him just how much she hates living with him until he lets her go back to Ricky.
Brad has other plans. He calls on the discipline expert, Gregory Murphy, to help him with his unruly niece.
