Times never seemed bleaker on the once lively planet of Duron. The merciless demons fought incessantly. All of them collectively wondered: how did it get to this point? How did they get from having the upper hand to having their lives in tight clenches of the Emperor Thanatos' hands? Inch by inch, moment by moment, they felt their lives slipping out of their control. For the Duronians, this was real! They could see him soaring high in all his might and fiery wrath that he was ready to inflict on them at any second. All of it was coming without regret, without another thought. If they knew Thanatos, and they did, it was evident that their end was, in fact, very near.

Fear...the only emotion each of them felt at that moment. Fear of losing their lives, fear of their planet destroyed, fear of being outnumbered, and fear of not having any chance of fighting back. Their lives hung at the mercy of this Evil Emperor, and all they could do was to look on in horror as he soared higher, in darkening fires, and shrieking sounds of their doom.

Haunting, his voice echoed in the hollows as if it was the warning bells of their impending death. His menacing voice sent shivers of fright through their entire being. Was this it for them? The planet of Duron, as the universe knew, would soon cease to exist. It was a time when history would be rewritten to erase any trace of their existence.

History would bear amazing stories of their battle against the evil Duronians. They would hail themselves as the heroes. While the Duronians... well, their story would see an end, a terrible one that would not only end their lives but also end their entire existence from history.

The Duronians had renounced their old ways a long time ago. Yet, some preachers reminisced those times still, gathering followers. The ancient leaders would never have let this happen. They were ruthless, but they were incredibly loyal to Duron. Many of the Duronians still wished they were still in command.

With the help of Cloaking Technology, Starship Sybil floated unobserved above the town of Rachen. Its presence remained hidden to those on its tail.

Commander Ahmad surveyed the ominous fleet presence along his home district from the command post in Starship Sybil. Three Rateraz Ships and a fast-moving bird-like Swarm approached at a measured speed.

He brushed a calloused hand over his forehead. His tight lips pursed as he looked out.

"The Swarms, dammit," he whispered to himself. "Maneuver around those tricky bastards." He ordered his crew.

His head of security, Cyndria Jomana, smoothed the lines on her forehead. In her heart, she felt a deep rage boil. She cursed the damned Chameleons, who had infiltrated their safety. The chameleons were the intelligence force of the Reapers. They had been injected into their ranks, and the Duronian government failed to realize that their ranks were compromised.

Cyndria held back the tears as she remembered the funerals of her sisters. They all fell dead to cowardly assassinations carried out by the Chameleons.
