The characters in this book are fictitious. The issues they experience are based on facts we might all experience at some or other time, or perhaps someone we know and love might be facing. The purpose of the story is to reveal that in the midst of our tragedies, trials and traumas we will find faith, hope and love to help us cope with whatever course our lives might take.
Autoren-Porträt von Barbara Scheepers
Barbara Scheepers, was brought up in a devout Christian home. At a very young age she committed her life to God and at the age of twelve felt called as a missionary in Africa.Six months after their marriage, she and her husband moved to Zambia where they pioneered the establishment of new churches in Livingstone and surrounding rural areas. They were disappointed when after a mere three years, policy changes within their denomination resulted in them leaving their mission work to the care and oversight of the African section of the church to pursue a new ministry pastoring white churches in Umtali in Zimbabwe and in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, where they established a number of new congregations.
Sadly, after twenty five years in full-time Christian ministry they were divorced. Out of the ruins of their combined ministries, she found a way to continue her passion to serve the Lord in diverse ways, in spite of working in secular positions. When she finally retired she started writing her memoirs, sonnets and poetry and this first novel. She has three children and four grandchildren and lives in East London, in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
