Autoren-Porträt von Justin Zyla
On the outside, Justin is your typical Nebraska boy – often plaid-clad and with a passion for the working class of his upbringing. A large portion of his life was devoted to the idea of becoming a lawyer, which he sidestepped senior year of college to instead pursue a Master’s in Creative Writing. But his mock trial and speech / debate days make the occasional appearance just to irritate family and friends. Religious people swear he must not be, and atheists consider him borderline Bible-thumping. But his outwardly stoic demeanor and antagonistic personality live in stark contrast to his bleeding heart, which has made him a strong force in the nonprofit industry (his day job). Soon to be 30 years old, his two (and sometimes three) day hangovers mean he probably wouldn’t last one night in the hard-core party scenes displayed in this novel. By the way, he swears this is not a memoir.
You can contact the author directly at justin.zyla@gmail.com or justin_zyla on Instagram. He’d love to connect with book clubs / writing groups, high school or college classes, and just anyone wanting to share their thoughts about the novel.
