The anthology contributes models, analyses and practical tools helpful for first-liners who are well placed to both see and prevent incipient extremism and to rehabilitate: to aid those who have been extremists in returning to society and finding a life worth living. In addition to chapters focusing on work in Norway, Denmark and Sweden, there are contributions from North America, Africa, Australia, the Middle East and Europe.
Autoren-Porträt
Gwynyth Overland holds a PhD in Sociology of Religion and is Special Advisor at the Southern Norway Trauma Competency Centre (RVTS). Her work on values includes Posttraumatic Survival: The Lessons of Cambodian Resilience (2013).Arnfinn J. Andersen holds a PhD in Sociology and is Research Director at the Norwegian Centre for Violence and Traumatic Stress Studies (NKVTS). His research interests are radicalisation, refugees, mental health, social integration and welfare.Kristin Engh Førde holds a PhD in Medical Anthropology, and is Senior Researcher at the Norwegian Centre for Violence and Traumatic Stress Studies (NKVTS). Her research focuses on policies and practices for the prevention of radicalization and violent extremism.Kjetil Grødum holds a PhD in Sociology of Religion. He is Head of Research and Development at the ARKIVET Peace and Human Rights Centre and Platform of the Norwegian Institute for the Prevention of Radicalization and Violent Extremism.Joseph Salomonsen is Senior Advisor at the Norwegian Directorate of Integration and Diversity (IMDI). His policy report "The Democratic Surplus" won the Council of Europe's article competition in 2010. His research focuses on the power dynamics of integration.
