Web of Filial Piety (ePub)

As a southern Jiangxi person living in Nanchang, there has always been a sense that the Hakka traditional society in southern Jiangxi seems to retain more "e;traditional"e; factors. For example, in the Qingming Festival every year, the hotels of the hometown are always full of people because the people who work in other places follow the ancient tradition, and they must go home to sweep the grave. Southern Jiangxi people's desire to have a son to carry on the family line is also stronger than people in other places of Jiangxi. Almost every time I return home, I can hear stories that some people quit their jobs or travel in distant parts in order to have a son. At that time, I just think it's the deep tradition of the Hakka people in southern Jiangxi, and I haven't thought about the deeper reasons. Until getting Wang Tianpeng's doctoral thesis Web of Filial Piety - A Study on the Historical Anthropology of Hakka Filial Piety, I find that "e;filial piety"e;, rooted in the deep Hakka cultural tradition in southern Jiangxi, is originally a "e;web"e; we wove ourselves. There are countless nodes in the web, and the individual position is like the position of each person's node in the web of filial piety, and each weaver is self-centered to weave this web.
