Alfie has noticed a few things since his family moved to Folding Ford. He really misses life in the city. He and his sister don't exactly fit in here. Clare’s debut The Lightning Catcher was nominated for the 2022 CILIP Carnegie medal. The Storm Swimmer is her second book for children, and she is represented by Abi Fellows at D H H Literary Agency. Clare also writes for adults and her short fiction has been widely anthologised, winning a Northern Writers’ Award in 2016. She grew up between London and Yorkshire, has British and Nigerian heritage, and a background in biological sciences.
