James Floyd Kelly is a freelance writer living in Atlanta, Georgia. He has written numerous books on a variety of subjects, from computer hardware to robotics to programming. James enjoys researching and using free software as much as possible, and his previous jobs (including network administrator, IT consultant, and technical writer) have given him access to hundreds of applications to install, test, and use. James received his B.A. in English from The University of West Florida (Pensacola, FL) in 1992 and his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Florida State University (Tallahassee, FL) in 1996. He enjoys making all sorts of odd things by hand - a hobby his wife pretends to understand and a hobby he hopes his son picks up.
