Autoren-Porträt von Danny Harvey
Danny Harvey is a Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Toronto. He began his career over 25 years ago in the area of computer climate simulation and analysis, but has gradually shifted to the analysis of energy systems and prospects for stabilizing atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations at relatively non-threatening levels. He is author of the Handbook on Low-Energy Buildings and Community-Integrated Energy Systems, which provides a comprehensive guide on how to design buildings to use one-quarter of the energy compared to current conventional practice.

Rezension zu „Energy and the New Reality 2. Carbon-Free Energy Supply “
'An impressive and comprehensive textbook.' Godfrey Boyle, Professor of Renewable Energy, The Open University, UK 'Provides a balance of energy technology and energy systems tutorial, balanced with an excellent education in the climate-energy nexus. As energy advances to be the 'front burner' issue that it needs to be and remain, texts like this are vitally needed for the new generation of energy researchers and leaders.' Daniel M. Kammen, Class of 1935 Distinguished Professor of Energy, University of California 'Carbon-Free Energy Supply is an impressive and comprehensive textbook. It concentrates on renewables but also includes nuclear power and fossil fuels with carbon capture and storage. It clearly demonstrates the technological and economic feasibility of a carbon-free future for the world.' Godfrey Boyle, Professor of Renewable Energy, The Open University, UK 'This book is a significant step forward for understanding how climate change mitigation can be effectively deployed. Technical and economic issues for each of the possible paths to achieve the goal are exhaustively presented, well documented and properly evaluated.' Professor Josi? Roberto Moreira, Brazilian Reference Center on Biomass, University of Si? o Paulo, Brazil 'Writing in an accessible but detailed manner, Harvey has produced a highly diversive book which will be of use to both students and practitioners.' Enagri 'An excellent new textbook.' Renew Praise for Energy and the New Reality Two-Volume Set 'The approach is detailed and technical and should be useful as a reference work... Overall, it's an outstanding package... Recommended.' Renew
